Dillon Reservoir provides some of the closest and most accessible fishing to Breckenridge. Dillon Reservoir is annually stocked with approximately 50,000 rainbow trout by the Colorado Division of Wildlife. The lake is home to Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon and Arctic Char and is the only public fishery in the lower 48 states (outside of Maine) where anglers have a chance at Arctic Char. With 26 miles of shoreline, there is a wide variety of fishing access. Fishing at each of the 3 river inlets (Blue River, 10 Mile Creek & Snake River) can be especially productive, where fish stack up to feed and prepare for their annual spawning runs.
